The Smell of Summer
Sweet peas are one of my favourite smells - like freesias, they smell like all flowers ever concentrated into a single bud. They smell heady, ethereal, angelic - like early summer mornings when the sun is just risen, the city noise is quiet, the birds are singing, and the dew is on the grass. Heavenly.

Weekend Remake - Dining Chairs
Weekend remake - a pair of dining chairs bought for £5 and a metre and a half of teal tweed bought for 50p from an Essex car boot sale.
I am pretty pleased with myself ...

Camera joy
Knowing how much I enjoyed playing about with the Sahib's new camera, my dad has very sweetly given me his old D-SLR - for my very own, for keepsies.
So, I've been having fun...
And just so you know - I'm not all about close ups of flowers, I take close ups of random bits of architecture too!

I ♥ making
It's been a busy ol' day, with lots of making ... And I do love making.
I've recovered a sixties magazine rack with a bamboo handle, made some cushion covers and planted our new baby apple tree.
Love!

Fourth of July - Rye, Sussex
Family get together in Sussex, in beautiful Rye. Lots of cobble stones and old houses drenched in roses and wisteria, sudden vistas of the marshes at the end of ancient narrow streets, smugglers' inns and fantastic handmade pork pies.
I strongly recommend a visit - and I'm in good company. The splendid Rob Ryan also has a soft spot for Rye.

Childhood nostalgia
Etsy treasuries - a bit addictive, really!
This one is full of childhood nostalgia: Tunnock teacakes, dunagrees, My Little Pony stickers and Blackpool.
Happy days!
