Bent double beneath a fellow commuter's sweaty pit,
Poems on the Underground caught my eye tonight. A wonderful idea this, snippets of poetry to soothe the mind and transport the soul as you take the cattle truck home, condemned to the vagaries of Transport for London.
Today, I saw the one above: a tortoise seeking transcendence, from ' The Carnival of the Animals' by
Judith Chernaik.
I especially love the
'random poem of the day' feature on the website.
